Sustainable Strategy

Our sustainability strategy and our business strategy as a whole is built on our focus to limit our negative impact and ensure a livable future for coming generations.

We aim to do so by using the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a framework, and also by setting science-based targets that are in line with the Paris Agreement to combat climate change.

A Sustainable Strategy

We strongly believe that a sustainability strategy shouldn’t be separate from a business strategy. Instead, they should go hand in hand, and therefore we use ISO 9001 & 14001, SBTi (Science Based Target initiative), and the 10 UN Global Compact principles as the foundation for our sustainability strategy and business model - that we call a sustainable strategy.

By using these frameworks we take responsibility to limit global warming and be mindful of the use of resources for current and future generations. Meanwhile, these principles help us prioritize and navigate our operations and maintain high standards as a responsible corporate organization.

Finally, by integrating SDGs and ESG into the core of the business, we make sure that we future-proof our business, and our customers’ businesses.

Message from our Head of Sustainability

We firmly believe that businesses based on a throwaway culture will eventually vanish, and that circular business models will take over and also create more job opportunities.
— Head of Sustainability, Linus Berg

The foundation of our sustainable strategy

  • SDGs

The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 goals that address social, economic, and environmental challenges worldwide. The goals are our guiding star when we determine what to focus on in our ongoing work.

  • Science Based Targets

The Science Based Targets initiative is helping us ensure that we set goals and action plans that are in line with the Paris Agreement and make sure that we do our part to keep global warming well below 1.5 °C

  • UN Global Compact

The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is the world’s largest sustainability initiative for companies and organizations that want to take active social responsibility in sustainability issues. We stand behind the initiative and design our policies according to human rights and anti-corruption.

Materiality Assessment

We update our materiality assessment annually to map out our most negative and positive impacts. Assessing these impacts helps us navigate what is most relevant for us to include in our sustainability strategy.

Policies

At Oleter Group, our policies address how we work with quality, the environment, occupational health, and safety, as well as how the organization is governed and the relationship with suppliers. The CEO and board members approve all policies. Our policies apply to all countries and subsidiaries, including relevant policies for procurement, such as business policy, code of conduct, and data security & privacy policy.

We ensure that all employees take part in and accept all policies and updates through our personnel academy and employees can access the policies through the intranet at any time.

Our policies aim to promote responsible corporate and sustainable development. We value regular discussions and collaboration with our stakeholders, as we believe that partnerships and collective efforts are essential for achieving our objectives.

We make our policies and related documents available on our website for business partners and other stakeholders to access. We also communicate news and updates both internally and externally to keep all our stakeholders informed. We encourage employees and stakeholders to send feedback about our business through the whistleblower function on the website.
