A message from our Head of Sustainability

We aspire to revolutionize the damage service industry by taking a step back.

Why?

Because 20 years ago, the industry was focusing on saving resources in both properties and personal belongings, rather than demolishing, discarding, and buying new. The industry needs to find its way back, and we are willing to lead the way. We firmly believe that businesses based on a throwaway culture will eventually vanish, and that circular business models will take over and also create more job opportunities. Therefore, we want to be on the cutting edge by investing in new technology, innovation, and our employees by giving them the tools and competencies to save resources.

As one of the major players in the Nordic region's damage service industry, we have spent the year enhancing our sustainability strategy. Our strategy aligns with the United Nations' sustainable development goals and accounts for the challenges of our rapidly changing world.

Our existing strategy reflects our ambition, as we have established a science-based target initiative goal (SBTi) to decrease our carbon footprint by at least 63% by 2030. However, we acknowledge that our responsibility extends beyond that. We have a significant ability to create positive change by promoting resource efficiency and ensuring a safe work environment in our industry and beyond. Achieving this transition will require questioning traditional decision-making processes.

While we have made progress in identifying and managing the risks and opportunities within our operations and value chain, there is still more work to be done. Our mapping efforts will not result in change unless we act upon the insights gained. Therefore, in 2022, we launched numerous initiatives and development projects at the local, regional, and national levels.

Some of our development initiatives include:

  • Continued investment in training for each branch to increase expertise and leadership, such as leadership, moisture, and remediation training.

  • Development projects in the various service areas that showcase environmental and cost savings in the customer projects we undertake.

  • Energy mapping throughout Sweden was carried out to reduce energy consumption in our premises during the year, resulting in investments.

  • We have partnered with Klimatarena Stockholm, a regional cooperation forum, to promote a more climate-efficient construction and civil engineering sector and, ultimately, a climate-neutral urban environment.

2022 was a year of innovation and progress for us. We seized every opportunity to test and develop new initiatives that allowed us to gain valuable insights into how things are connected. By learning from both our successes and challenges, we are now better equipped to drive positive change and create meaningful impact. As we move forward, we remain committed to carrying these lessons with us, empowering us to revolutionize the damage service industry and lead the way towards a more sustainable future.
