Climate & Circularity

On a mission to combat climate change

With a circular business model

Getting to a truly circular business model and actively working to combat climate change is crucial to us for several reasons.

A circular business model aims to reduce waste and increase resource efficiency by designing processes that minimize waste and energy consumption, and encourage reuse, refurbishment, and recycling - which is the core of what Oleter Group believes in.

By doing so, we can reduce our environmental impact, save resources, and cut costs. Since business and sustainability go hand in hand, this is a critical step in ensuring a sustainable future, for us and for all.

Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges facing our planet today. As businesses are significant contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, we have a responsibility to take action and reduce our carbon footprint. Therefore, we aim to further improve our sustainable practices to reduce our environmental impact.

We see an increasing consumer demand for sustainable products and services. We believe that by adopting a truly circular business model that demonstrates our commitment to sustainability, we are more likely to attract and retain customers, which can ultimately improve brand image and financial performance.

Overall, we believe that having a circular business model and actively working to combat climate change is not only good for the environment but also for the long-term financial success and sustainability of Oleter Group. We are in it for the long run.

Priority Areas

Sustainable

Projects

We want to provide projects with a minimal impact on the planet. Therefore, we set up a target to have 40% lower emissions per project by 2026 from a 2020 baseline.

Transports

Today around 15% of our emissions come from our own transport. We see that we have an opportunity for improvement here and have therefore set a target to reduce our purchases of fossil fuels by at least 25% by 2024, from a 2020 baseline.

Waste

A natural consequence of being part of the construction industry is that we have to handle waste. Today around 5,4% of our emissions come from waste. Our target for 2024 is to reduce the weight of mixed waste by 33%, to 2 319 tons tonnes from 3 451 tons in 2020 - to be aligned with our science-based climate targets.

Chemicals

Chemicals are a part of our work. Therefore we have set a target to lower our use of high-risk chemicals by 20% in relation to revenue by 2024 and reduce the usage of chemicals in whole by 30% relative to revenue by 2024.

100% av all chemicals used will be taken care of and/or recycled.

Energy

Most energy consumed in Oleter is generated from our transports. The remaining energy consumption is mainly consumed in our facilities and from the machinery we use in projects. Oleter Group aims to have 100% renewable electricity in our facilities and 100% energy-efficient machines and dehumidifiers by 2024.
